The signatures of the region of the northwest of Murcia go for the first time to the American reference Fair in Las Vegas, after growing the number of exporting companies 34% in the last year.
The Northwest Footwear industry treads firmly on foreign markets. The number of exporting companies in the sector in the region, mainly located in this area, has increased by 34.44% in the last year, from 90 to 121 in the comparison of the first quarter of this year with respect to the previous one. The community, through the Institute of Development (INFO), activated a year ago a specific plan for this sector, the program ‘ Murcia Calzado ‘, which puts special emphasis on enhancing the innovation and internationalization of the companies that integrate it.
The director of the Info, Joaquín Gómez, visited four of these companies yesterday in Moratalla and Caravaca de la Cruz, where he later maintained an encounter with representatives of the Jute Association. «Two of the main axes of this plan are the impulse to the modernization of a sector characterized by the quality of its products with a specific bet to introduce the technologies 4.0 and the promotion of the internationalization, betting to consolidate markets «Traditional like France, Italy or the United Kingdom, and diversify and capture new emerging markets,» Gomez said. In terms of internationalisation, the footwear companies will participate for the first time, next August, at the Magic Platform International Fair in Las Vegas, which with more than 700 exhibitors and 1,600 brands from over 20 countries around the world is one of the most Of this sector in the US market. The participation in this fair, whose call is open until the next day 26, joins the organization last September, and also in a pioneering way, of a mission to the fair of the footwear of Milan. A total of eight firms will participate in the Las Vegas fair, six of them are Caravaqueñas, one from Moratalla and another from YECLA. In the first quarter of 2017, sales in the international markets already reach 47,890,000 euros.
